There was a time when traffic across the Panhandle traversed Highway 90. Like a lot of small-town America, time just seemed to stand still when the Interstate opened. A stroll downtown reveals examples of architecture from the 19th Century through to the classic 1950's. The adjacent neighborhood has many antebellum and Victorian homes some of which have been lovingly restored.

Situated in nearby Chipley, a tour offers visitors a walking journey into the natural habitats that are home to Gray, Artic and British Columbian wolves. DeFuniak Springs

There are just two almost perfectly round lakes in the world. One is in Switzerland and the other is in nearby DeFuniak Springs. Only a short half hour drive to will put you at Circle Drive. This scenic road rings the lake and is home to 39 delightful Victorian buildings. The lake has 2 docks and a sidewalk that runs all the way around the lake. This is a wonderful walk to see birds, turtles, and other native Florida wildlife. DeFuniak Springs is also a history buff’s playground with it’s rich American history.
